Re-mix BOTD 04/04/2010

Today I'm wearing a necklace a little on the plainer side (for me at least) It's a 3 strand gold pearl & crystal necklace that I got from Le Chateau. What I like about it is that it can be worn in a lot of different ways. The Anne Boleyn type picture of me (the one where I have no head) is showing it worn the usual way. Multi-strand necklaces always look very classic and elegant. It's hard to find pretty hair accessories, so I often re-purpose other jewelery to be worn in my hair. Necklaces work great as headbands if you bobby pin them in place. They especially hold really well if you're wearing your hair up, so there's more to anchor them to. Easy alteration #3 is tangling the strands up a bit, it creates something a little more interesting and unique looking. Option number four I showcased a couple days ago with a different necklace, adding a pin changes the whole look of a necklace. You can change the look every time you wear it by changing up the pins. I usually like the pin worn off to the side a bit best. The pin I used here is a vintage one (probably from the 60's or maybe 50's) I've found lots of old metal flower ones like this at vintage stores, thrift stores and garage sales. You can often find cute ones from $5.
